VO2 Max Testing
VO2 Max Fitness Testing
How it works
At our Palm Beach Gardens location, the VO2 Max test is performed using the VO2 Master mask while you exercise on a treadmill or stationary bike. The test gradually increases in intensity to measure how efficiently your body uses oxygen. The active testing portion lasts about 10–15 minutes, and with preparation and cooldown, the full session takes around 30 minutes.

Frequently Asked
Questions
How do I prepare for a VO2 max test?
Wear athletic clothing and avoid caffeine or heavy meals before your test. You'll wear a mask that measures your oxygen use and carbon dioxide output as exercise intensity gradually increases on a treadmill or stationary bike until you reach your maximum effort.
What is VO2 Max?
VO2 Max (short for maximum volume of oxygen) testing measures the maximum amount of oxygen your body can use during intense exercise. It reflects the efficiency of your heart, lungs, blood vessels, and muscles, and is a key indicator of cardiorespiratory fitness. A higher score generally means better endurance, a stronger cardiovascular system, and a lower risk of chronic disease.
Is the VO2 test difficult?
The test is strenuous but safe. You'll breathe through a mask and work to your personal limit—not beyond it. It's supervised by trained staff.
How often should I get a VO2 Max Test?
VO2 Max Testing is recommended every 3–6 months, if you're training, or annually as part of a longevity program.
What is the cost of VO2 Max testing?
VO2 testing is $100 for a 30-minute session. Frequent VO2 testing is included in Humanaut Health membership.
